Tuloy na tuloy na! Sotto to replace Koko as Senate President on May 21
A rigodon in the Senate leadership is set to happen next week, Politiko has learned.
According to a source, an election will be held on May 21 to elect Majority Floor Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III as the new Senate President.
He will replace the incumbent Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.
Politiko’s source said Sotto’s election as Senate President was supposed to happen this week, but was deferred out of respect for the passing of former senator Edgardo Angara.
Senator Cynthia Villar earlier confirmed that Pimentel will step down as Senate President because he needs to prepare for his reelection bid.
