UST law dean says he’s not the big brother of Aegis Juris fraternity
University of Sto. Tomas (UST) law dean Nilo Divina assured senators he is no big brother of the Aegis Juris fraternity.
“I categorically deny that I am the big brother being referred to,” he said in a statement.
Divina, who remains one of the trustees of the fraternity, reacted to the statements of senators conducting the inquiry on the death of hazing victim, UST law freshman Horacio “Atio” Castillo III, that the dean is the fraternity’s big brother.
The chat group of the fraternity discussing what to do in the case made mention of a big brother who urged fratmen to show support by attending the Senate hearings and visiting their brother John Paul Solano who had been detained but eventually released.
However, fratmen told senators the big brother they referred to is not Divina but a generic term used to former leaders of the fraternity.
