‘Wag akong idamay! Acosta distances self from parents’ phobia over vaccines
Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta said she shouldn’t be blamed over the drop in the vaccinations being administered by the Department of Health (DOH).
Acosta responded to allegations that she has stirred up unnecessary panic for claiming that the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia distributed by the DOH has caused to numerous deaths.
“Hindi po ako ang nagmanufacture ng Dengvaxia, at hindi rin po ako ang nagpaturok niyan,” she said.
“Dengvaxia lang po ang pinag-uusapan, yung ibang bakuna hindi po kami laban diyan,” she pointed out.
Meanwhile, Acosta renewed calls for Health Secretary Francisco Duque III to resign due to his involvement in the Dengvaxia mess.
“Kung ako po siya, ako po ay magre-resign kasi naka-demanda po ako sa DOJ (Department of Justice) para hindi na madamay ang pangulo, di na madamay sa kanya,” Acosta said.
Duque is already facing a criminal complaint before the DOJ over the deaths of two children, Jansyn Bataan and Abbie Hedia who both got inoculated with Dengvaxia.
