‘Wag na pabebe! Duterte warns Bong Go against resorting to substitution in running for Senate
President Rodrigo Duterte has had enough of Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go being coy about his political plans.
Duterte on Friday (October 12) told Go to file his cetificate of candidacy for the 2019 elections and not shock the public by being someone else’s substitute about a month from now.
“Sabi ko kung tatakbo ka, ngayon na. Do not go into that kind of substitute substitute. Because mabasa ng tao ‘yan eh,” he said of Go in a press conference in Davao City.
“Sabi ko kay Bong, you go and I will — I will help him. I will help him because he’s a friend,” Duterte added.
Go has repeatedly said he doesn’t have plans to run for senator despite being visible in public events and opportunities to help the needy.
The filing of COCs at the Commission on Elections will be until October 17.
