Wag palusutin yan! JV wants Napoles convicted on ‘pork’ raps
Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito hopes alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles won’t get away for plunder and graft as easily as she did in the illegal detention case filed by her cousin and former assistant, Benhur Luy.
“I’m hoping (that in) the bigger cases, she will not be (acquitted). She has to pay for these, for all her crimes. (The issue on the) PDAF is taxpayers’ money. Of course she has to pay for it so that there will be no more such crimes in the future,” Ejercito told reporters Monday (May 8).
The senator expressed dismay over the Court of Appeals’ decision to acquit in the illegal detention case filed by Luy, who is also a whistleblower in the pork barrel scam cases.
Ejercito’s half-brother, former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada is a co-accused of Napoles in the plunder and graft charges filed in connection with the alleged misuse of lawmakers’ Priority Development Assistance Fund from 2007 to 2010.
