Wala lang! Malacanang says no reason why Duterte skipped barangay polls
President Rodrigo Duterte failed to cast his vote in the barangay elections Monday (May 14) for “no reason,” his long time aide said.
Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go gave this explanation when pressed by reporters after Duterte failed to show up at Daniel Aguinaldo High School until voting ended at 3 p.m.
The school is the location of Duterte’s precinct.
The 2018 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections are the first polls to be held under Duterte’s term.
Despite warning about the possibility of drug-linked candidates winning the elections, the President declared May 14 a special non-working day for people to vote.
He is set to be in Malacañang later tonight for the oath taking of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat.
