Di rebolusyonaryo! Duterte likens NPA to ISIS

President Rodrigo Duterte likened the New People’s Army (NPA) to Islamic terrorist group ISIS and said the Communist Party of the Philippines’ (CPP) armed wing is devoid of ideology.
Duterte expressed once again his anger at the NPA after the Communist rebels allegedly attacked military men aiding citizens affected by Tropical Depression Urduja.
“I’m sick and tired of talking to you. Almost pareho kayo ng ISIS,” Duterte said on Monday (December 18) at the awarding of the Order of Lapu-Lapu to killed and injured policemen deployed in Marawi.
“There’s not even a single factor of a revolutionary there. You go around asking money robbing the poor tapos ‘yung mga asawa sa taga-bukid, hinihipo ninyo,” Duterte said.
The President has terminated peace talks with the Reds after learning of their ambush on the military which left a four-month old infant dead.
He has also since declared the CPP-NPA as terror groups and directed Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II to file a case before a Regional Trial Court for the Communists to be judicially declared as terrorists under the Human Security Act.
