Walang sabotahe! Aguirre: Decoupling of MRT coaches ‘purely accidental’
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said no sabotage has been found in the decoupling incident at the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3) in 2017.
Aguirre said this is the finding of the National of Bureau of Investigation (NBI) which he ordered to conduct a probe of the incident.
“No findings of any human intervention, in other words purely accidental ang nangyaring pagkalas doon,” said Aguirre who received the report of the NBI’s investigation.
The NBI conducted the probe based on the order issued by Aguirre himself.
In his order, the Secretary directed the NBI to look into the decoupling of the MRT coaches last November 16, 2017 near the Buendia station.
The incident momentarily halted MRT 3 operations and forced passengers to leave the coaches and walk to the nearest stations.
MRT 3 technician initially suspected that sabotage could be involved in the incident.
