Without warrant, Trillanes is safe from arrest – Andaya

A former cabinet official of the Arroyo administration has advised embattled Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV to avail of all legal remedies following the revocation of his amnesty grant last Tuesday.
House Majority Floor Leader Rolando Andaya Jr. said Trillanes, just like any other citizen, could not be arrested without the issuance of any arrest order from the court.
“Without such warrant, the good senator, I believe, is safe from arrest,” said Andaya.
On Tuesday, Malcañang announced the revocation of the amnesty grant given to opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes, a staunch critic of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Trillanes is currently under the custody of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III pending the issuance of an arrest warrant from the court.
Andaya, a former Budget Secretary of the Arroyo Administration which was hounded by Trillanes and Magdalo group’s two failed coup attempts in 2003 and 2007 said that the rule of law in this country still prevails and the former rebel soldier should utilize all the legal solution to prevent his impeding arrest.
