Yummy! Davao’s durian is Widodo’s delight
Indonesian President Joko Widodo is looking forward to getting a taste of durian when he visits Davao City on Sunday (April 30) to grace the opening of a Roll On, Roll Off (RORO) project.
“Sobrang masarap!” Widodo remarked about durian in Filipino when he spoke at the start of a state banquet prepared for him and his wife in Malacañang.
He then offered a toast for better relations between Indonesia and the Philippines.
The RORO project to be inaugurated by Widodo and President Rodrigo Duterte will link the cities of Davao and General Santos to Bitung in North Sulawesi in Indonesia.
Widodo and his wife, First Lady Iriana Widodo, arrived at about 1: 45 p.m. at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City. Duterte met him at the Palace.
After Widodo signed the guestbook, the two leaders went to the Music Room for a private chat. This was followed by the bilateral meeting, signing ceremonies and the issuance of the joint statements.
