Zero tolerance: Duterte fires 2 officials for corruption
President Rodrigo Duterte has revealed that he fired two officials, including an undersecretary, last week.
In a speech before motorcycle enthusiasts in Albay Saturday (April 21), Duterte said he dismissed the officials for corruption.
“The other day I fired two, one undersecretary… Ito mag — at tsaka mag-warning ako sa inyo ha. I said, when you are fired, it is because of graft and corruption,” he said.
The President made the revelation days after the resignation of Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say.
While Say claimed his resignation was related to issues surrounding moves to end contractualization, Malacañang said Duterte had information about his alleged involvement in corruption.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Say would’ve been fired if he did not resign.
Duterte reiterated his strong stance against corruption as he warned government officials against engaging in it.
“Hindi ako nagbibigay — I have zero tolerance sa p****** i****… Ayaw ko ‘yan. Sibat,” he said.
