The Philippines now has 15 testing facilities to screen people for novel coronavirus (Covid-19), according to the chief implementer of the national task force on Covid-19.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said that Covid-19 tests can now be done at St. Luke’s Medical Center Quezon City, V. Luna Hospital, The Medical City, Makati Medical Center, and the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory.
“Ang mga pasilidad na ito ay makakatulong upang mapabilis at mapalawak ang ating kakayanan na makapag-test at makapag-identify ng (Covid-19) patients upang sila ay mabigyan ng karampatang medical treatment,” he said during a news conference Sunday.
Galvez also noted that a total of 2,673 quarantine facilities have been established across the country to accommodate suspected and probable Covid-19 cases.
“Ang mga ito ay may total bed capacity na humigit kumulang na 165,756. Sa kasalukuyan ay mayroon tayong 645 probable Covid-19 cases at 900 suspected cases na ginagamot sa mga pasilidad na ito,” according to him.
Fifteen mass quarantine facilities, which can house 2,000 patients, will be operational in the coming weeks, he added.
