The bible of Philippine politics

Last Saturday, August 16, during the city’s annual Kadayawan Festival, Ramon Bautista joked that Davao City has plenty of sexy but ugly women, using the term “hipon” to describe them. The vice mayor, who was said to have invited Bautista to the event, reportedly talked to the comedian backstage and asked him to issue a public apology. So, before the event ended, Bautista returned on stage to say sorry. But, apparently, the comedian’s apology wasn’t enough for some people. ANC Yahoo

In her Facebook page, Sara Duterte lambasted Bautista and encouraged the City Council to declare Bautista persona non grata. “It would be a good idea for him to stay away from Davao City for a while.” This was how Davao City councilor Tomas Monteverde put it when he explained the implications of the City Council declaring comedian-writer Ramon Bautista persona non grata. For his part, Bautista has posted his own statement on the matter on his social media accounts. He also said, &ldquo I respect the decision of the Davao officials, and I will abide by it.” nbsp; ANC Yahoo
