Private companies with multiple tenants are required to have an isolation area of one room for every 200 employees, Malacañang said Thursday.

The designated isolation area, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, must be situated near the entrances or in a nearby facility, for employees needing medical assistance.

Citing the DOLE-DTI Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2020-04-A, Roque noted that the area must have adequate ventilation and make available personal protective equipment (PPE) for the health personnel and symptomatic patients.

Large and medium private establishments should also establish the following:

*Shall be provided with chairs and must have a dedicated restroom

*Shall be disinfected once every two hours and/or immediately after any infected or confirmed coronavirus-positive employee leaves the area

*All individuals shall keep their face masks and face shields during isolation at all times.

*Isolation area personnel shall always wear the recommended PPEs prior to attending to the symptomatic employee

Meanwhile, Roque said company entities also need to put in place protocols for transporting a symptomatic employee to the nearest health facility for swab testing.
