2 media personalities to run for Senate seats under NPC
Two popular media personalities are being considered by the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) to form part of their senatorial lineup for 2019, highly placed sources told Politiko.
Sources, who refused to be named over concerns that the two would get offended by the abrupt reveal of their political plans, said MPP is already in talks with Popular Anchor (PA) and Controversial Columnist (CC).
Both PA and CC have been in headlines recently, either for their exposés or the controversies they were dragged into.
Aside from PA and CC, Senate President Tito Sotto, in an interview with Rappler, also said the NPC is considering to include broadcast journalist Ted Failon in their Senate slate.
Failon ranked between the 14th to 19th places in the latest Pulse Asia senatorial preference survey and was a Leyte district representative for one term.
Meanwhile, former GMA-7 broadcast journalist Jiggy Manicad is being considered by ruling party PDP-Laban in their Senate lineup, according to Senator Koko Pimentel.
