Ex-Duterte spox wants Palace access for ‘vloggers’

Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque sees nothing wrong with vloggers covering presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other Malacañang events.

The Duterte administration allows accredited bloggers and social media influencers to cover presidential events, Roque said in a recent interview with POLITIKO.

“Hindi ko naman ipinagbawal noong ako ay [nasa] OPS (Office of the Presidential Spokesperson) na mag-cover ang mga vloggers. They were always welcome,” according to him.

“In fact, lahat ng mga public functions ng spokesperson, hindi lang mainstream media ang aking inentertain kung hindi ang alternative media,” he said.

Roque stressed that “all avenues of mass communication” should be granted access to press events under the Marcos government.

“The Palace must be able to work with it,” he added.

The abogado ran under the tandem of Marcos Jr. and Vice President-in-waiting Sara Duterte-Carpio in the recently concluded senatorial race. He placed 17th with only 11,045,762 votes.
