It’s a politiko-studded selfie.
Senator Bong Revilla managed to get President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and several politikos in one memorable shot during a party last Wednesday night. The social event was a thanksgiving dinner thrown by new Senate President Migz Zubiri at the posh Manila Polo Club.
As Revilla flexed his arm to capture the moment, the politikos gathered round the President, crammed themselves into the shot, and flashed their huge smiles.
The latest snapshot included Revilla’s wife Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado, Senators Grace Poe, JV Ejercito, Bong Go, Joel Villanueva, and Jinggoy Estrada, Senator Sonny Angara and wife Tootsy. House Speaker Martin Romualdez also joined the group for the photo opp with the President.
Revilla shared on Facebook the photo with the caption: “With PBBM and friends at the Thanksgiving Dinner of SP Zubiri.” The snapshot has earned more than 5,000 likes.
Zubiri, the party host, is seen in Revilla’s photo, but unfortunately with his back to the camera. Also seen in the background are Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez and special envoy of the President to UNICEF Nikki Prieto-Teodoro.
The President, accompanied by First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, showed support for Zubiri by attending his thanksgiving dinner held at a hotel.
Zubiri, the ‘trabahador’ of the Senate, won a fresh term as senator during the May elections. The lawmaker from Bukidnon ran under the senatorial ticket of Marcos and running mate Vice President Sara Duterte.
Zubiri was recently elected Senate President by his colleagues during the opening of the 19th Congress.
