Former Vice President Leni Robredo’s memoir about her presidential bid is coming out soon.
Robredo shared on Facebook about finishing a book titled “Tayo ang Liwanag.”
The book release was announced a year after Robredo declared her presidential run, which she described as the “biggest fight of my life.”
The former veep launched a people-driven “pink” campaign for the presidency but lost to rival Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the May polls.
“After the elections, one of the things I really wanted to do was to write about my experience from this extraordinary journey—mula sa panahong nagdedesisyon pa lang ako, hanggang sa dulo ng ating People’s Campaign. Napakahirap ng ating naging laban, pero puno ng galak at pasasalamat ang bawat pagbabalik-tanaw,” Robredo wrote on Facebook.
“So today, as many of us look back at the wonderful memories of the campaign, allow me to share: Our book, TAYO ANG LIWANAG, will be available on pre-order soon. Watch out for more details in the coming days” she said.
Robredo also thanked campaign volunteers “who keep the spirit of Bayanihan alive.” A year since the movement began, she said the spirit of volunteerism remains alive.
When her term ended last June, Robredo organized the Angat Buhay organization, envisioned to become the biggest volunteer network in the country.
She recognized that Angat Buhay volunteers have fueled the programs such as Community Learning Hubs, Bayanihan e-Konsulta, and Angat Bukas: Lusog, Galing, Sigla convergence program.
She also pushed for the continuous bayanihan spirit to aid people in need.
“The memories being shared by our volunteers today remind us that we can do so much more for our country. Nawa’y patuloy na magsilbing gabay sa ating lahat ang pagmamahal natin sa ating bayan, na ipinamalas natin sa nagdaang taon,” she said.
She said public service must be sustained regardless of political affiliation.
“Walang pinipiling kulay ang paglilingkod. Tuloy lang tayo. Tuloy ang bayanihan: Para sa kapwa, para sa bayan,” she said.
