Actress Dawn Zulueta is under fire online for tagging along President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s trip to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Zulueta, the wife of Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, appeared in some of the videos shot by the presidential broadcast team, RTVM, while Marcos was in Switzerland. Her role there, however, was a mystery.
On Twitter, netizens questioned why Zulueta joined the trip and if taxpayers footed the bill for her.
“Wala.
“No brainer, if BBM wants the IMAGE OF HONESTY & ACCOUNTABILITY, he should prevent the possibilty of public doubt. Here, DI NA DAPAT SINASAMA ANG SINUMAN NA WALANG KINALAMAN SA BYAHE (asawa ng isang politiko, o super rich Ayalas). Otherwise, explain without stupid reasoning, pls!” @noysmaykr tweeted.
“Muse raw mhie. Wala kasi siyang utak,” @tancmielle said.
Just before flying to Manila Friday (January 20), Marcos said “half” of the “large” delegation who accompanied him to Switzerland used private funds.
“They came here on their own. They stayed in their own places. They made their own arrangements, although they are technically part of the delegation,” he said.
Marcos said the delegation whose travel expenses were shouldered by the government were limited to him, the Cabinet Secretaries, Speaker Martin Romualdez and their respective support staff.
