The House Committee on Ways and Means will invite several personalities who were allegedly linked to the large-scale smuggling of agricultural products to its hearing.
In Monday’s hearing, Sultan Kudarat Rep. Horacio Suansing Jr. said in due time he will request the committee to issue subpoenas for the brokers/importers/facilitators allegedly involved in large-scale agricultural smuggling:
– Michael Ma
– Lujene Ang (300+ containers per week of GM – MICP)
– Andrew Chang (POM/MICP/Batangas)
– Beverly Peres
– a certain Aaron
– Manuel Tan (CDO/Subic/Batangas)
– Leah Cruz (CDO/MICP)
– Jun Diamante (CDO)
– Lucio Lim (Lugene Ang right hand man in BOC)
– Gerry Teves (MICP)
Suansing also requested records from the Bureau of Customs and the Department of Agriculture on the following consignees:
– Victory JM Enterprises
– Taculog International Consumer Goods Trading
– Asterzenmed Aggregates
– Veneta Consumer Goods Trading
– Lalavy Aggregates Trading
– Frankie Trading Enterprises
– Primex Export – Import Producer
– SB Express Logistics Business Solution
– Silver Pop Dry Goods Trading
– Thousand Sunny Enterprises
– Viogelas Viol Aggregates Trading
– Junezone Dry Goods Trading
– Burias Jang Consumer Goods Trading
The lawmaker also requested records and documents from the BOC “on importer PilSHON Corporation, whose cigarette products are allegedly flooding Philippine local markets despite only being declared for transshipment to Malaysia.”
“In view of these requests, I will divulge in due time pertinent information on these individuals and personalities, which would make relevant these requests to the Committee and to the concerned government agencies,” Suansing said.
Later in the hearing, Suansing moved to invite these personalities. The motion was seconded and eventually approved after no member objected.
