An illustrious mansion inside Malacañang compound has finally been reopened after its renovation, becoming a stunning backdrop for a fashion show by a renowned local desinger.
At the helm of the restoration of the Goldenberg Mansion is First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, an ardent champion of the country’s arts and cultural heritage.
To celebrate the reopening of the architectural gem, the First Lady showed support for her talented friend, designer Puey Quiñones, who was given a chance to unveil his creations in the historic location.
Quiñones has designed numerous dresses for the First Lady, along with some eye-catching polo Barong Tagalog garments donned by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
In an Instagram post, the First Lady lauded Quiñones on his outstanding “Filipino” collection and sent her best wishes for his continued triumph.
“Your designs left everyone in awe. Wishing you continued success, Puey!👏👏👏 ,” Mrs. Marcos wrote on Instagram.
The First Lady has been passionately promoting the country’s vibrant arts and culture scene. Her efforts extend to preserving and restoring iconic heritage houses, including the Goldenberg Mansion located along Gen. Solano St. inside the Palace complex.
Once a dilapidated structure, the mansion now stands in resplendent glory, a testament to the First Lady’s unwavering passion for the arts. The restoration of the mansion has been affectionately dubbed as “Liza-ific” by her son Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos.
Meanwhile, politiko wife Audrey Zubiri took to Instagram to congratulate the First Lady on the resounding success of the Goldenberg Mansion’s grand opening. The wife of Senator Migz Zubiri was among the hundreds of guests who attended the fashion extravaganza held at the mansion.
In an interesting revelation, she also hinted at the exciting prospect of a fashion series supported by the First Lady, with Quiñones paving the way.
“Congratulations First Lady @lizamarcos on the success of the opening of the beautifully refurbished Goldenberg Mansion at Malacanan and the launch of the Fashion Series beginning with @pueyquinones, celebrating Philippine fashion and our indigenous materials 🇵🇭,” she wrote on Instagram.
