Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said that the House of Representatives remains firm in supporting the Build Better More infrastructure program of the Marcos administration.
Romualdez made the remark as he lauded the opening of Pier 88 in Liloan, Cebu.
He said the BBM infrastructure program “would uplift the lives of our people by enhancing the quality of critical infrastructure in our transport sector, digital connectivity, power and energy, and health-related initiatives.”
Last Monday, the House of Representatives approved on third and final reading a consolidated bill providing for a 30-year national infrastructure program for 2023 up to 2052.
The proposed 30-Year National Infrastructure Program Act (HB 8078) focuses on major infrastructure projects that will serve as the country’s infrastructure backbone.
HB 8087 is one of 42 priority measures identified by the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) under the Marcos administration.
Last Saturday, Romualdez attended the grand launching of Pier 88 which will enhance mobility in the region resulting in new business opportunities, bolster economic growth, and create jobs for the people.
“The significance of this project cannot be overstated, as it will create countless opportunities for businesses, create job opportunities, and contribute to the overall development of our community,” Romualdez said.
He also commended the local government of Liloan, the private sector, and the people of the municipality for working together to bring the visionary concept into reality.
