Heartbreak and hope.
The beloved triumvirate – former Senator Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon – officially cut ties with TAPE Inc., the production company behind the country’s longest-running variety show “Eat Bulaga!.”
The decision came following a reported clash with the Jalosjos family, owner of the production unit.
Actress Ciara Sotto, daughter of the former senator, is among those heartbroken about TVJ’s exit, describing it as “the end of an era.” However amid the emotional announcement, Ciara stood firmly in TVJ’s corner and remained hopeful that everything would work out.
The former senator’s daughter even posted a clip of the TVJ’s announcement about parting ways with Jalosjos-owned TAPE Inc.
“I’m sharing this here because this was not allowed to go live on air on your television sets,” she wrote on Instagram.
“We may all feel like it’s the end of an era, but we hold on to God’s promise that ‘God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.’ Romans 8:28 We love you TVJ! We’ll always love you @eatbulaga1979 🇵🇭 #eatbulaga #tvj,” she added.
Tito, Vic and Joey have hosted the variety show for more than four decades, spreading joy and fun entertainment to Filipinos. They made an emotional announcement about their departure on the show’s May 31 episode.
