The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has reiterated its warning to the public against fixers and fraudsters promising to facilitate transactions with the agency.
“We remain firm in upholding integrity, diligence, and transparency in all our processes and transactions, in adherence with existing laws, rules, and regulations, especially on the requesting and releasing of public funds,” the DBM said in a statement.
The department emphasized that they have never authorized any individual or group to solicit money, goods, or favor in exchange for facilitating such transactions.
“We will not, in any way, tolerate or condone false representation or solicitation of any kind as this is a clear violation of the law,” it added.
To avoid being victims of fraudulent practices, the DBM strongly encouraged everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity so that appropriate charges may be filed against these unscrupulous individuals.
“For the information of the public, the submission of requests for Local Government Support Fund–Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGUs) shall only be made through the Digital Requests Submission for Local Government Support Fund found in the DBM Apps Portal. All documents submitted by the LGU through other means shall be automatically denied,” its statement read.
The DBM said it will only communicate directly with the local chief executive of the LGU concerned to avoid scammers, middlemen, fraudulent individuals, or organized groups from making representations.
