The Jalosjos-led production company behind “Eat Bulaga” is moving forward after the departure of iconic trio of former Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
Undeterred by the exit of TVJ, TAPE president/CEO Romeo “Jon” Jalosjos Jr. and his brother company finance director Bullet Jalosjos have laid out ambitious plans to make “Eat Bulaga bigger” in partnership with GMA-7 network.
“We are happy for the full support of GMA 7 in making Eat Bulaga bigger, to bring more fun and excitement to every Filipino,” the Jalosjos brothers said in a statement.
“We want to assure the public and the supporters of the show through its segments that we are committed to provide quality entertainment,” they said.
While the company is “saddened” by the May 31 events, the two Jalosjos siblings acknowledged that life must go on without TVJ.
“It is unfortunate, but life must go on. As with life, we have to accept changes but we have a duty to every Filipino,” they said.
The Jalosjos siblings said the public can expect more fun and entertainment from the “bigger” Eat Bulaga.
“Abangan ninyo ang mga bagong magpapasaya at magpapatibok ng ating mga puso,” they said.
“Aasahan nino ang mas masaya, mas nakakaaliw at HIGIT PA SA ISANG LIBO’T ISANG TUWA na Eat Bulaga. Patuloy ang Dabarkads na maglilingkod para sa inyo, mga Kapuso MULA APARRI HANGGANG JOLO AT SA BUONG MUNDO,” they added.
On May 31, TVJ announced their departure from TAPE Inc. amid a conflict with the Jalosjos camp. The trio explained they merely wanted a harmonious and respectful working environment.
More Eat Bulaga hosts also decided to leave TAPE following TVJ’s exit.
TAPE later issued a statement expressing sadness over the events. The Jalosjos brothers however said they “respect the decision of the hosts to leave Eat Bulaga and GMA 7 Network, which has been their home for 28 years.”
