The revamped “Eat Bulaga” is apparently faltering without the iconic trio of former Senator Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
As the noontime show aired on Monday with new set of hosts, many fans including Senator JV Ejercito missed the presence of the beloved trio.
Among the new program hosts are Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Alexa Miro, and twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi tapped to fill the void left by TVJ and other talents.
Ejercito, like many others, found himself perplexed by the new ensemble of unfamiliar faces on “Eat Bulaga” stage following he exit of TVJ. He humorously suggested that these fresh talents should don name plates so people can recognize them.
The senator shared his observation on Twitter, posting a snapshot of the “new” Eat Bulaga show on television.
“The ‘new’ Eat Bulaga! Parang kailangan nila lagyan ng name plates ang ibang talents. ✌🏾” he tweeted.
Given the enormous shoes to fill, Ejercito expressed doubts the new Eat Bulaga could beat the iconic TVJ and other talents who left the show.
“Mahirap ata tapatan TVJ, Alan K, Pao, Jose & Wally, etc… Eat Bulaga is really TVJ,” he said.
Ejercito’s sentiments resonated with many Twitter users who were also dismayed with the revamped program. Some thought the show was lackluster, while others proposed dropping the “Eat Bulaga” name altogether.
