From Kapuso to Kapatid, the iconic trio of former Senator Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon found a new home — TV5 network led by Manny V. Pangilinan.
A week after their split with the Jalosjos-owned TAPE Inc., TVJ forged a deal to produce content for TV5 and other Mediaquest platforms. The network transfer was finalized in an agreement with Mediaquest Group on Wednesday. The trio reportedly intends to retain “Eat Bulaga” name for their TV5 program.
Mediaquest is the company that controls TV5 network and Cignal TV.
“The Mediaquest Group has entered into an agreement with Tito, Vic, and Joey and the Dabarkads to produce content for TV5 and other Mediaquest platforms,” the statement read.
“The deal opens yet another chapter in the long-running celebrated entertainment careers of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon,” it added.
Mediaquest President and CEO, Jane Basas said she is honored that TVJ, known pillars of the local entertainment industry, have agreed to work with the team.
“Our partnership strengthens our ability to continue to deliver the best for Filipino viewers here at home and all over the world,” Basas said.
“I’m happy that Tito, Vic, and Joey will now call TV5 their home,” she added.
