President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed his gratitude to the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) for their assistance during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the oath-taking ceremony of the new FFCCCII officers in Malacañang, Marcos Jr. recalled that Filipino-Chinese communities were first to obtain Covid-19 vaccines from China.
“Ang unang pagdating ng Sinovac dito sa Pilipinas ay nanggaling sa inyo, privately, as a Federation, as a unit, as individuals, in your own corporation, nakapagpasok kayo. Doon nagsimula ang ating vaccination process. Hindi makakalimutan ng ating taong-bayan ang napakalaking tulong na ibinigay ninyo,” the President said Wednesday.
He also lauded the “high-impact” socio-civic projects of the FFCCCII , particularly its flagship program, “Operation: Barrio Schools,” which constructs school buildings across the country.
Meanwhile, Marcos Jr. assured the Federation that his administration will continue to support their “healthy” and “necessary” relationship.
“Definitely, this is a partnership that my administration will continue to preserve, harness and enhance so that it may bring forth greater benefits for businesses, our citizens and our country,” according to him.
“We look forward to further deepening and strengthening that relationship through continuing dialogue and amicable approaches,” he added.
