The House of Representatives has adopted a resolution extending congratulations and commendations to the recipients of the 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Awards for their unwavering commitment and exceptional contributions to public service.
House Resolution 1312, authored by a group of lawmakers led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, was consolidated with HR 1298.
The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos is the foremost and most prestigious career-service award bestowed upon outstanding individuals in the academe, military, and police sectors, according to the resolution.
The foundation highlights the achievements of 10 distinguished Filipinos, with four hailing from the field of education and three each from the military and police forces.
The 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Award for Teachers was bestowed to Rex Sario from Balogo Elementary School in Pangantucan, Bukidnon; June Elias Patalinghug from Catalunan Elementary School in Davao City; Edgar Durana from Don Jose M. Ynares Sr. Memorial National High School in Binangonan, Rizal; and Jovelyn Delosa from Northern Bukidnon State College in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The recipients of the 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Award for Soldiers were Staff Sergeant Danilo Banquiao, of the Philippine Army; Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Bitancur, of the Philippine Air Force; and Colonel Joseph Jeremias Cirilo Dator, of the Presidential Security Group.
The 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Award for Police Officers was received by Chief Master Sergeant Dennis Bendo, of Manila Police District; Major Mae Ann R. Cunanan, of Police Community Relations Criminal Investigation and Detection Group; and Colonel Renell Sabaldica, Chief of Morale and Welfare Division of Directorate for Personnel and Records Management in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
“Whereas, for exemplifying commitment, selflessness, and dedication in the pursuit of public service, the House of Representatives proudly joins the Metrobank Foundation Inc. in honoring and commending these 10 exceptional individuals who exemplify public service as a worthy endeavor,” the resolution read.
This year’s awardees join the ranks of 695 outstanding public servants recognized by the Metrobank Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Metrobank Group, since 1985.
