3 PNP generals, other drug-dealing cops: Leave or I will humiliate you or I will kill you – Duterte
President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has fired a warning shot against the denizens of corruption in the Philippine National Police (PNP) as he advised them to leave the service before he takes over on June 30, 2016.
“Corruption must stop. I would have to ask about three generals in (Camp) Crame to resign. Do not wait for me to name you in public because I will only humiliate you,” said Duterte during the victory party at Crocodile Park in Davao City on 4 June 2016.
Duterte did not identify the three police generals whom he previously hinted as deeply involved in illegal drugs.
Duterte’s police shakedown would continue up to the lower ranks as he moved for a review of all dismissed cases against erring cops who have used loopholes in the justice system to evade their arrest or dismissal.
“All cases dismissed will be reviewed. All policemen who have been filed charged just lie low for two to three hears. They go back to the judge when all witnesses are either dead or too old to pursue the case. After going at large, they suddenly surface and ask for bail or a speedy trial to fix their cases. Then they go back to service,” said Duterte.
“All police who have cases or are wanted, you have to (leave) and if you are still there and involved in drugs, I will kill. I am not joking. Put*ng in*, papatayin talaga kita,” said Duterte in front of half a million adoring fans.
