Almost half of Filipinos expect the coming holiday season to be more prosperous than last year, a Pulse Asia survey bared Friday.
Forty-eight percent of 1,200 adults surveyed between December 3 and 8 expect a more prosperous Christmas this year.
The poll also noted that while 11 percent said they would be poorer than last year, 41 percent said their holidays won’t be any different.
Meanwhile, 93 percent of respondents said they will face 2020 with hope, up by two percentage points from 2018.
Seven percent are undecided.
The following are among the key issues that preoccupied Filipinos during the survey period:
-Vice President Leni Robredo’s dismissal as co-chair of the government’s anti-drugs body;
– the Philippines’ hosting of the Southeast Asian Games;
– President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to implement stricter rice importation measures; and
– Duterte’s refusal to pay water concessionaires Maynilad and Manila Water among others.
