Abot hanggang 2022? Robredo gets candid about her chances of keeping VP post
Will Vice President Leni Robredo finish her six-year term or are her days numbered?
Robredo remains upbeat about her chances of keeping the vice presidential post even if former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos has questioned her victory in the May 2016 polls before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.
“Naniniwala tayo,” Robredo said in an interview over GMA News’ “Unang Hirit” Tuesday (May 9) when asked if she believes she will finish her term in 2022.
Robredo said she is unfazed about the poll protest because she believes she won the vice presidential race fair and square.
She said what is needed right now is to trust in the PET’s process of assessing the merits of the protest against her.
“Maraming natatakot, maraming kinakabahan, pero parati kong sinasabi dapat tumiwala sa proseso, tumiwala sa institusyon, kasi doon naman ang sandigan ng ating demokrasya,” Robredo said.
