Actions speak louder than words: Aggabao sure of Echiverri’s transfer to NPC
Expect and Caloocan City Rep. Recom Echiverri to make the big switch from the Liberal Party to the Nationalist People’s Coalition anytime soon even though he did not join the ranks of 200 politikos who took their oath to the party last Friday (Sept. 18).
NPC acting president and House Deputy Speaker Giorgidi Aggabao has expressed confidence that Echiverri will jump ship to country’s second largest political party because the LP stalwart has “signified his intentions” to do so.
“We can always schedule a new oath taking once he says he’s ready,” Aggabao said.
Echiverri had remained coy on whether he would transfer to NPC even when he was spotted by the media at the oath-taking ceremony of the party’s new members in New Manila.
He said he just attended the event “to discuss some things” with NPC chair Faustino Dy Jr., who extended an invitation to him.
“I’m [still an LP member] now…Everything is on the table yet,” Echiverri said.
