Cavite Rep. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla has run to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to complain about the allleged “cyberbullying” experienced by lawmakers involved in the House of Representatives’ hearings on ABS-CBN’s franchise.
At the 12th joint congressional hearing on ABS-CBN’s franchise Monday (July 6), Remulla claimed there are “troll farms” attacking lawmakers taking part in the deliberations, including himself.
“I’d like to tell the committee that today, after my experience over the past 10 days or the past six days of being the subject of many organized attacks on social media, I have gone to the NBI to complain about the cyberbullying to my person and to other members of the House,” Remulla said.
The lawmaker said it was part of Congress’ duty to look into ABS-CBN’s operations since it is applying for a new franchise.
Remulla is opposed to renewing ABS-CBN’s franchise, which expired on May 5.
