After 2016 disappointment, Mar Roxas seeks Senate comeback: I won’t quit on our country
Former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas is eyeing a Senate comeback in the 2019 midterm elections.
Roxas, who lost in the 2016 presidential elections, has announced his political bid via Facebook after admitting he had a crisis of conscience on whether to continue to serve the country.
“I’m not perfect. I’ve made mistakes…Buong puso binigay ko sa bansa at sa kapwa. Nagsilbi ako ng tapat at malinis,” Roxas said.
“May maitutulong ba ako? Oo,” he said, recognizing the nation’s challenges such as high prices of food, fuel, electricity, and fares.
“I don’t have any quit on me. I won’t quit on our country.. Ino-offer ko uli ang sarili sa inyo at hinihingi ko rin ang tulong ninyo dahil hindi ko ito kayang nag-iisa,” he said.
