The word war between Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte and Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. heats up, with the two lawmakers trading barbs in an exclusive Viber group for House members.
During their heated exchange Thursday (September 17), Teves accused Villafuerte of being gay.
“I hope everybody is a witness to this conversation. Walang kasuhan ha? Walang ethics-ethics ha? That day will come. Alam naman ng lahat [ang] pagkabading mo,” Teves told Villafuerte.
Villafuerte responded: “Ikaw ‘ata bading kasi puro hambog gawa mo! Tapang mo. Kanina na sana ‘di ba? Ikaw lang kilala ko naghahamon [sa] Viber. Gawin mo! Duwag ka naman. Puro ko daldal! Baka umiyak ka ulit.”
The two lawmakers’ quarrel started after Teves questioned the supposed hefty allocations for Camarines Sur and Taguig in the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) budget for 2020.
Teves claimed Camarines Sur will have an P11.8-billion allocation for infrastructure projects while Taguig, the bailiwick of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, will reportedly receive P8 billion.
In the Viber group, Teves dared Villafuerte to fight him. He even reminded the Bicolano lawmaker of his longtime political rival, former Camarines Sur Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr.
“Baka nakalimutan mo, ‘di ka lumaban kay Andaya. Don’t worry. We will meet in person. I hope you workout enough. I don’t like word wars. ‘Pag nagharap na lang tayo,” Teves said.
Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor urged the two lawmakers to keep their heads cool. Teves relented but called Villafuerte a “faggot.”
“You know I don’t lie. Let that faggot prove Albee and Lord’s involvement. Boss Mike, kilala mo ako. Sige lang. I hope he will be man enough when we meet. Lahat ng sinabi ko totoo,” Teves said.
