Albano’s death a ‘great loss to Congress,’ says Romualdez
House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez on Wednesday mourned the death of veteran lawmaker, LPGMA party-list Rep. Rodolfo Albano Sr., saying the man was a great loss to Congress.
“Manong Rudy Albano, our former House Majority Leader, is a man of integrity, compassion, strength and exemplary deeds. His passing is a great loss to Congress and to all the people who know him,” Romualdez said.
The Leyte lawmaker offered his “great respect and gratitude for Manong Rudy’s unwavering dedication and sincere service to our nation until the very end.”
“I join our friends with thoughts of comfort in extending our sincere sympathies and prayers to the Albano family during this very painful time. We are with you in this time of grief,” Romualdez said.
The 85-year-old Albano suffered a heart attack and died in a hospital on Tuesday.
Albano was the father of incumbent Isabela Governor Rodolfo Albano III and Isabela Rep. Tonypet Albano.
