Alejano to Palace: Stand for the Filipinos, not China
It is about time the Duterte government to stand up and defend Filipinos instead of China, according to Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Gary Alejano.
“MY CHALLENGE FOR THE PALACE: STAND FOR THE FILIPINOS, NOT CHINA,” the Magdalo party-list lawmaker tweeted.
In the wake of the alleged harassment of fishermen by Chinese coast guards in Panatag Shoal and alleged onerous Chico River irrigation loan project with China, Alejano asked the government if China’s friendship was more important than the welfare of Filipinos.
“Sa puntong ito, dapat ay tanungin natin ang gobyerno kung ano ang mas mahalaga para sa kanila: ang ‘di umano’y pakikipagkaibigan natin sa China o ang kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan lalo na ng susunod na henerasyon?” he said.
If the government is incapable of defending its people, Alejano urged fellow Filipinos to protest the “treacherous acts” of the administration.
“In times of incapacity of our government, we have to stand for our country and for the future generations. Let us express our discontent against the treacherous acts of the administration,” he said.
“Lagi’t lagi, ang Pilipinas ay para lamang sa Pilipino,” he said.
