Andanar limits PCOO social media posts ‘to ensure content consistency’

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar on Monday issued an order limiting the cross-posting of content on the social media pages of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and its attached government media agencies.
In issuing Department Order No. 20-009, Andanar said that cross-posting should be strictly limited to the live streaming of news events and briefings of the following:
-The Presidential Spokesman;
-The Chief Presidential Legal Counsel;
-The PCOO Secretary;
-Members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases; and
-Major primetime news and public affairs programs of PTV, Radyo Pilipinas, and Philippine News Agency
This, according to the PCOO chief, would “ensure content consistency” on all their social media platforms.
“Further, the Radio Television Malacañang shall continue to manage the aforementioned cross-posting activities,” he added.
Andanar’s order came days after the PCOO shared on its Facebook page the statement of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict on the franchise issue of media network ABS-CBN.
