Andanar not invited to Marcos’ Libingan bash, but says they’re entitled to it
Presidential Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar said the Marcos family is not barred from holding private events like the commemoration of former President Ferdinand Marcos’ 100th birth anniversary at Libingan ng mga Bayani on Monday, September 11.
Andanar told reporters at the House of Representatives that he was not invited to the celebration.
“The Marcos family, they’re entitled to their own event. If they want to celebrate the birth anniversary of Ferdinand Marcos, it’s up to them. Kami naman, we’re not connected to the Marcoses,” he said.
The invitation to guests read, “Honorable Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, her children, and grandchildren request the honor of your presence in the commemoration of the 100th birth anniversary of President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos on Monday, September 11, 2017.”
“A Mass will be held at 9:30 in the morning at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, Bayani Road, Taguig City to be followed by a short program and lunch.”
