Reelectionist Senator Sonny Angara urged the private sector to work hand in hand with the government in restoring the centuries-old churches in Pampanga that were damaged by the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that struck on April 22.
Angara said these “national treasures” should be preserved for future generations.
The lawmaker said the private sector should help hasten the repair and reconstruction of the damaged churches, saying the restoration of heritage sites is not only the government’s duty.
He said regardless of one’s faith, these churches are part of our cultural and national legacy.
Angara said “It is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations.”
