Senator Sonny Angara has expressed solidarity with the ABS-CBN family as it awaits the decision of the House of Representatives on its franchise renewal.
Angara said he is hoping for the best outcome in the upcoming House vote on the franchise application of the Kapamilya network.
“Praying in solidarity with all the Abs-Cbn people and their families, hoping for the best possible outcome w/ tomorrow’s vote on their franchise,” he wrote on Instagram on July 5, Sunday.
The senator’s message included a photo of two hands holding a rosary with the colors of the Lopez-owned network.
Tootsy Angara, the wife of the senator, also posted on Instagram a solidarity post in support of the media giant. She works as a top sales executive at the network.
The network has shut down its broadcast operations after the state regulatory agency issued a cease-and-dseist order. The 25-year franchise of the network lapsed last May.
The House committee on legislative franchise is expected to hold another session on Monday and may decide on the franchise application of the network.
