Senator Sonny Angara on Sunday said the Bayanihan 2 law set aside funding for credit facilities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which they could loan in order to be able to give workers their 13-month pay.
“Meron hong pondo sa ilalim ng Bayanihan 2 for access to credit or pautang sa mga MSMEs, halos P55 bilyon,” the chair of the Senate finance committee told DZRH.
“P10 billion for SB Corp, nagpapautang sa DTI, while P45 billion between Land Bank and DBP, are the bulk of funds,” Angara said.
“Yung papautang ay pwedeng gamiting ng MSMEs sa pagbabayad ng 13th month,” he said.
That is, unless the MSMEs have already closed down.
“Well, unless magsara, but I guess yung mga nag-su-survive, makakatulong sa kanilang bayaran ito, kung kulang pa ang kanilang cash flow,” Angara said.
