Reelectionist administration bet Sen. Juan Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara has attributed his good performance in the recent surveys to the endorsement given by President Rodrigo Duterte and her daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Angara said the backing of the chief executive and the Davao City Mayor helped him sustain his good standing in various pre-election surveys, as the reelectionist senator climbed to third spot based on the figures from Pulse Asia last March.
“I think the President and Mayor Sara’s strong pitch for their preferred candidates is helping a lot,” Angara said.
The young senator from Aurora province registered a 6.3 percent increase in his voter’s preference during the March survey of Pulse Asia. At least 58.5 percent of the 1,800 respondents said they will vote for Angara in the upcoming midterm elections.
The nationwide poll was conducted from March 23 through 27 has a ± 2.3 percent error margin at 95 percent confidence level.
“I am very thankful to our people for their continued trust and hoping such result carries over to Election Day. Nakakapagod itong kampanya pero nabibigyan kami ng sigla dahil sa resulta ng survey,” said Angara.
The Harvard-educated senator is running under the platform “Alagang Angara,” which is anchored on improving the life of every member of the Filipino family—a message which he said resonates well with the people.
“We will try to stay visible and get our message heard through mass media and/or personal appearances,” Angara said.
