Anong kalokohan ‘yan? DOJ wants BuCor’s explanation for Napoles’ inclusion in GCTA beneficiaries’ list
Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Markk Perete has asked the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) to explain why Janet Lim Napoles has been listed among the convicts released as a result of their good conduct time allowance (GCTA).
“We have asked BuCor an explanation on this,” he said on Thursday (Sept. 12).
In the meantime, Perete assured that “Janet Lim Napoles has not been released. “
“She remains at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW),” stated Perete who has supervision over BuCor.
Napoles is serving time at the CIW in Mandaluyong City following her plunder conviction at the Sandiganbayan involving the pork barrel scam.
However, the BuCor submitted to the Senate a list which showed that Napoles has been serving time at the all-male New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City for a rape conviction and released on November 12, 2018 after serving her sentence.
Napoles has not been convicted of rape.
