Comedian Ogie Diaz is wondering how Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. veered off the straight path in the wake of mounting criticisms about his profanity online.
Diaz commented on Twitter that Locsin used to be a saint when he was still an official of the administration of the late President Corazon Aquino.
“Santo pa noon si @teddyboylocsin nu’ng panahon ni Cory Aquino, eh. Anyare? Ba’t ngayon parang ano na?” Diaz tweeted.
Locsin later responded that such assumption about being a saint was wrong. “Yan ang akala niyo. Syet, man; I was rockin’ and rollin,'” the former lawmaker tweeted.
The country’s foreign affairs chief has triggered a firestorm after hurling invectives at a Philippine Daily Inquirer reporter over a tweet about the absence of President Duterte at the closing session of the ASEAN summit in Thailand last Monday.
He offered to apologize but asked the Inquirer journalist to say sorry for the supposed “slander” as well as the newspaper to vow never to slant stories about Duterte.
