Embattled Cong. Alfred Delos Santos said he will accept any sanction that will be imposed by Ang Probinsyano Party-list group after punching a waiter in Legazpi City last Sunday.
“I will humbly accept whatever decision you make dito po sa nangayri,” said Delos Santos in an interview with radio DZMM.
Delos Santos on Thursday has apologized for punching 20-year old waiter Christian Kent Alejo inside Biggs Diner in Legazpi City early morning of July 7.
“Humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa ‘yo, kay Christian Kent… kay Christian Kent Alejo, gusto ko lang mag-apologize lalong-lalo na sa ‘yo at sa ‘yong pamilya at ikaw ay aking nasaktan dahil sa nagawa ko,” said Delos Santos.
Ang Probinsyano spokesman Atty. Joco Sabio earlier said Delos Santos may face expulsion from the group if proven that he committed abuse.
“We will not tolerate any kind of abuse in our party. We will not hesitate to suspend or even remove Congressman Delos Santos if we establish that this was an unprovoked attack,” said Sabio.
Sabio said Delos Santos might be their nominee but “he is not the entire representation of the Ang Probinsyano Partylist.”
“His actions and his decisions are his own and should not reflect on Ang Probinsyano as a party and as an organization,” said Sabio.
Sabio said the leadership of Ang Probinsyano was indeed “disappointed with what happened” and they are not taking this unaccounted for.
“We are taking all the necessary steps to make sure that this will not happen again in the future,” said Sabio.
