Part-time private school teachers may apply for aid before the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during the coronavirus lockdown crisis, Malacañang said.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said they also qualify to receive financial assistance through the Department of Finance’s (DOF) wage subsidy program.

Last Friday, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases recommended to move the opening of classes this school year to September.

The recommendation, however, was “subject to compliance with the law and the recommendation of the Department of Education.”

Education Secretary Leonor Briones earlier said they were mulling over resuming classes in August.
