Arroyo signs subpoena order vs. Diokno

House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has signed the subpoena duces tecum against budget Sec. Benjamin Diokno after snubbing last Wednesday’s inquiry over questionable allocations and budget practices of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
In a document released by House Appropriations Committee chair Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya Jr., it can be seen that Arroyo already signed the subpoena order against Diokno upon the panel’s recommendation after the budget chief once again its ongoing investigation over the budget irregularities in the government.
Under the subpoena, Diokno is hereby directed to appear before Andaya’s panel at exactly 10 a.m. of Friday, February 8.
“Failure to comply with this order is subject to penalty under the law,” the subpoena read.
On Wednesday, Andaya called Diokno an ‘alligator-skinned’ after skipping the panel’s invitation for the seventh time.
