Art imitates life: ‘Ang Probinsyano’ mirrors PH society problems – Trillanes
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has defended a popular television show after the country’s top cop criticized the negative depiction of policemen on the program.
Trillanes said “Ang Probinsyano” which stars Coco Martin not only informs the public about abuses in government but also gives lessons on good always triumphs over evil.
“Ang Probinsyano mirrors our societal problems,” Trillanes said in an online post.
“It is a novel way of informing the public about the corruption and abuses of government officials while imparting the lesson that good will always prevail upon evil,” he said.
Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde has protested the unfair negative portrayal of policemen in the actioned-packed tv series. He plans to meet with the tv executives to raise the complaint.
